• Lynn Wilson was elected senior vice president of U.S. Forest Resources at Jacksonville-based Rayonier. Wilson is a member of Rayonier’s senior management team and is responsible for 2.4 million acres of timberland in 10 states and Rayonier’s Land Information Services.

• Jacksonville-based Stein Mart Inc. will open three stores on March 15 — in Irvine, Calif., the Los Angeles market; Suwanee, Ga., the Atlanta market; and Sunset Hills, Mo., the St. Louis market. The California store is a relocation from another Irvine location. The two new stores and one relocated store bring Stein Mart’s total store count to 264.

• JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot said Tuesday that Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan has offered investment assistance to help preserve the Laura Street Trio buildings Downtown, but not to develop the vacant structures. “They are willing to be helpful, if needed, to preserve the property but they don’t want to be the developer,” Mallot said, referring to Khan’s corporate team. The three buildings — the Florida Life Building, Bisbee Building and the Marble Bank Building — have been of interest to developers for years but none has been successful in converting the buildings into proposed commercial and residential uses. Mallot said Khan’s company is waiting to see if its offer of financial assistance is needed.

• The “Modern Baking” industry publication recognized Edgewood Bakery of Jacksonville as one of its “Innovative 10 Businesses” and featured the bakery in its February issue. Edgewood Bakery was chosen because of its business diversification, including the addition of a bistro and event venue, beer and wine menu, catering and online shopping at edgewoodbakery.com. Edgewood Bakery also was chosen to be showcased on BakeMag.com in the video series “Discovering America’s Bakeries.” Edgewood Bakery, based in the Murray Hill neighborhood, has been in business for 65 years and has more than 30 employees.

• The Downtown Development Review Board of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission scheduled a workshop for 1:30 p.m. March 15 at the JEDC offices in the Police and Fire Pension Fund Building to discuss the proposed Riverside Park Development in Brooklyn. The meeting is at 1 W. Adams St. on the second floor.

• REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.) announced in a news release Tuesday that it will open its first Florida store in Jacksonville early next year. The company sells outdoor gear and clothing for camping, climbing, cycling, fitness, hiking, paddling and travel. The 23,400-square-foot store is planned in The Markets at Town Center at St. Johns Town Center. The company, based in Kent, Wash., near Seattle, operates 122 stores in 29 states.
