• Today is the last day on the job for Linda Lanier, who is retiring from the Jacksonville Children’s Commission. Lanier, the commission’s executive director and CEO, announced in late January that she was leaving the second week in March to spend more time with her grandchildren.
• Daylight saving time starts Sunday morning. Set your clocks forward an hour. That means 2 a.m. becomes 3 a.m. Standard time resumes Nov. 4.
• The City Environmental Quality Division reminds residents that daylight saving time means it’s also time to set lawn and landscape irrigation to no more than two days a week. Residential properties with an address that ends in an odd number or places without an address may water on Wednesday and Saturday, and addresses ending in an even number may water on Thursday and Sunday. Non-residential irrigation is permitted only on Tuesday and Friday. Watering is allowed before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. There are some exceptions, including watering to establish new landscaping. • The JAX Chamber GrowJax Advisory Board will feature Preston Haskell, chairman of The Haskell Co., from 3:30-5:30 p.m. March 29 at the JAX Chamber to talk about building the company, followed by questions and answers. The CEO Nexus Forum is limited to CEOs and C-level executives of second-stage companies. For information, visit www.myjaxchamber.com.
