• Richard Rumrell, of the law firm of Rumrell & Brock, has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Rumrell is a graduate of the University of South Florida. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law with honors and earned an LL.M. in Advanced Litigation from Nottingham Law School Ltd., Nottingham-Trent University. The firm has offices in Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Key West.
• Greg Schaffer has been named chief information security officer at Jacksonville-based FIS effective April 2. He will have enterprise-wide oversight of FIS’ information security program, functions and initiatives. Before joining FIS, Schaffer served as Acting Deputy Undersecretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate and Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity and Communications for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
• C. Ronald Coleman, vice chairman of YMCA of Florida’s First Coast Metropolitan board of directors, presented the “Volunteer of the Year” award to Jacksonville businessman John Curtin for his decades of service. Curtin is vice president of operations at Jacksonville-based Velcorp/Gems. He was director of neighborhoods for the City of Jacksonville from 1995-2003. Curtin served 32 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a captain in 1995.
• The law firm of Holland & Knight announced it intends to open an office in Bogotá, Colombia. Attorneys throughout the firm will primarily provide counsel to non-Colombian companies that want to enter the Colombian market and assist Colombian enterprises as they expand abroad. Holland & Knight said it will be only the second major U.S.-based law firm to have an office in Colombia.

• Kristen Lacoste joins Daigle Creative as a public relations specialist. Lacoste holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations from the University of Florida, earning her practical experience in the public affairs department at Mayo Clinic. Lacoste also has expertise in the hospitality industry.
