Mayor Alvin Brown (second from left) announced three appointments to his staff Monday, including (from right) Public Works Director Jim Robinson, Communications Director David DeCamp and Special Assistant to the Mayor Angela Spears. Brown touted Robinson’s more than three decades of experience in engineering and management. His annual salary will be $147,000. DeCamp has been a reporter for 16 years and covered government and politics for The Florida Times-Union and most recently the Tampa Bay Times, formerly known as the St. Petersburg Times. His annual salary will be $100,000. Spears has been appointed special assistant to the mayor for community engagement. She will assist the mayor in efforts to engage citizens throughout Jacksonville on “key community priorities.” Her salary will be $73,000. Her previous post in the mayor’s office was deputy director of communications.
