Hundreds of motorcyclists and passengers are expected Saturday Downtown for the 10th anniversary of the Daniel Rock ‘n Ride, a fundraiser presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.
The event raises money for programs serving abused, abandoned and emotionally troubled children at Daniel. Daniel is Florida’s oldest child-service agency.
Beginning and ending at the Landing, motorcyclists will travel a 60-mile route to the Beaches and back. Their journey will take them past Daniel’s Belfort Road campus, where about 100 Daniel children, foster parents and staff will gather with handmade posters to wave to their benefactors.
Back at the Landing, riders and other Daniel supporters will gather at Mavericks for a party that will include lunch, auctions and live music from the Jacksonville band Big Engine.
Early registration fees through today are $24 per driver, $15 for a passenger and $100 additional for a VIP upgrade. Fees increase Saturday by $15 for all levels.
Fees include the ride, lunch, after-party admission, a T-shirt and a gift bag.
After-party only tickets are $14 today or $15 on Saturday, which includes lunch, live music and access to auctions
Registration begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The ride begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends around noon. The after-party will continue until 3 p.m.
The first 300 ride registrants will be automatically entered into an on-site drawing for a chance at winning a new iPad 2.
