More than 900 people attended the 26th Annual Celebrity Chefs Tasting and Silent Auction on Thursday at the Osborn Center, raising an estimated almost $100,000 for The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida.

In addition to the 15 chefs serving their commercially prepared recipes, Mayor Alvin Brown and his wife, Santhea, and sons Joshua and Jordan helped to serve the food.

The proceeds this year increase the total raised during the history of the event to an estimated $1.5 million.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary organizes the event. Proceeds this year will benefit the organization’s Child Development Center, the Towers Memorial Social Services Center, the Adult Rehabilitation Center and the Senior Center.
