• Seasons of Japan should open at St. Johns Town Center at 4413 Town Center Parkway, in the Publix center. The City approved demolition of suites 201 and 203 for landlord’s work to lease space as one unit. The permit indicates it’s for Seasons of Japan, whose website, seasonsofjapan.com, shows seven locations in Georgia and South Carolina. It describes itself as “a Japanese restaurant serving genuine Japanese and all Hibachi style cuisines that are cooked to order.” The menu shows bowls, entrees, combination plates, salads, sushi and more. The company, which franchises, said its first restaurant opened in 1999 in Savannah.

• Awning sign permits were approved for First Watch Restaurants at the Riverplace Shopping Center at 11111 San Jose Blvd., Unit 14. The signs call for “Breakfast Brunch Lunch.” First Watch has three of its daytime cafes in the area – Jacksonville Beach; Southside at Beach and Hodges boulevards; and the Mandarin location at Riverplace Shopping Center.

• The City approved construction for 7-Eleven at 50 Kernan Blvd. N. Great Dane Petroleum Contractors Inc. is the contractor for the 3,010-square-foot convenience store and fuel canopy at $1.56 million.

• A business license was issued for Casa Leon Mexican Restaurant Inc. at 2260 Mayport Road.
