The deadline for bids for renovations to the old federal courthouse at 311 W. Monroe St. was extended again, this time to 2 p.m. Nov. 21.
The construction cost is anticipated to be about $25 million. The scope of work calls for providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to renovate the structure. Eight pre-qualified companies are eligible to submit bids.
The deadline was extended because of the volume of Requests for Information about the specifications and also because more modifications are expected for the bridge/crosswalk to connect the building to the neighboring Duval County Courthouse.
The old federal courthouse is planned to be renovated for the State Attorney’s Office.
