• The firm of Lewis, Longman & Walker was appointed to the First Coast Manufacturers Association board of directors for a three-year term. The firm also serves in the same capacity for the South Florida Manufacturing Association and is a member of the Manufacturers Association of Florida, among others.

• Florida State University professor Ruth Stone has been appointed the Wayne and Pat Hogan Professor of Trial Practice. The award is funded by the Wayne and Patricia Hogan Endowment, which was established in 1999 with a $2 million gift. Stone is co-director of the FSU College of Law Public Interest Law Center and directs the Family Law Clinic.

• Akerman last week announced a record-breaking fiscal year with revenues of $285.3 million for 2012, a 10.8 percent increase over last year, according to the firm. Net income grew by 11.5 percent and headcount grew by 6.6 percent to more than 550 lawyers and government affairs professionals. The Jacksonville office is one of 19 across the U.S.
