• First Southern Bank has opened an office in Mandarin at 9965 San Jose Blvd., No. 52, to serve the Mandarin and Julington Creek areas. The bank began its Florida expansion in 2010 and has grown from five branches in South Florida to 16 across the state.
• The next "Movies in the Park" series begins about 8 p.m. Friday on the Wyndham Jacksonville Riverwalk riverfront lawn with a showing of "Mary Poppins." The series is in its sixth year and will conclude May 3.
• Justin Sorrell has joined Jackson Lewis' Jacksonville office as an associate. Sorrell is a former federal district court law clerk with experience working with the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board. Jackson Lewis is a workplace law firm and Sorrell's practice covers employment and labor-related areas.
