Regus build-out OK'd at Bank of America Tower

The City approved the $580,000 build-out for the Regus executive suites in the 42-story Bank of America Tower at 50 N. Laura St. Downtown.

Adams Interior Contractors Inc. will renovate 12,551 square feet of space in Suite 2500 to provide about 75 offices for Regus. The operation is expected to open in late October.

The Daily Record reported July 26 that Regus, a global provider of flexible office workspaces with more than 1,500 locations in 600 cities in 100 countries, planned a Downtown Jacksonville center in the Bank of America Tower.

Regus's Downtown location will be the company's sixth center and the second Downtown. Its first Downtown center is on the 12th floor of the Aetna Building on the Downtown Southbank.

The centers provide office space on flexible terms. Clients can lease offices for short periods, meeting space, executive suites as well as use the service as a "virtual" office.

Its website is regus.com.

Bradsby Group plans offices at Wells Fargo Center

The City is reviewing a permit for a 2,211-square-foot space for the Bradsby Group in Suite 3100 in the Wells Fargo Center at 1 Independent Drive.

Dav-Lin Interior Contractors is shown as the contractor for the $47,896 project.

Jason Rhodes, principal and manager of Bradsby Group Oil & Gas, said in an email Monday that he moved to Jacksonville a year ago to open a regional office for the Denver-based company, which also has an office in Houston.

He said the company is a "boutique headhunting firm" and its Jacksonville office focuses on hiring in the oil and gas industry.

Rhodes said Bradsby signed on last year with the Regus executive suites' company for temporary office space in the Aetna Building on the 12th floor at 841 Prudential Drive on the Southbank.

Rhodes said Bradsby will move at the end of September into the Wells Fargo Center offices on the Northbank. He said the group has four employees and he plans for up to 15 employees in about two years.

"This office will be focused on the oil and gas industry. We specialize in onshore/offshore oilfield services," he said.

The bradsbygroup.com site says the organization's oil and gas group "meets the comprehensive hiring needs of independent exploration and production, service and land companies throughout North America."

The Bradsby Group's Jacksonville office specializes in onshore and offshore oilfield services domestically and in international locations, the site explains. It also works with energy trading companies that focus on crude oil, gas, and fuels.

"We specialize in connecting organizations and top oil and gas professionals," says the bradsbygroup.com site.

The other offices provide hiring in many other industries.

For example, the Denver office provides hiring in the areas of accounting and finance, construction, engineering and manufacturing, information and technology, investment banking, legal and telecommunications along with oil and gas.

The Houston office focuses on accounting and finance, land, and supply chain and procurement.

State Farm taking space at Riverplace Tower

State Farm intends to build-out offices in Riverplace Tower on the Downtown Southbank.

Plans show interior renovations for 6,781 square feet of space on the 19th floor of the tower at 1301 Riverplace Blvd.

Adams Interior Contractors Inc. is shown as the contractor for the $107,000 project.

Plans describe the job as an interior renovation for a new tenant and show at least 14 offices, work cubicles, conference room, breakroom and other space associated with office build-outs.

That size space has an occupancy load of 67 people.

State Farm spokeswoman Michal Brower said Monday in an email that the company typically does not discuss details or project specifics because of business and competitive reasons.

"We don't feel it prudent to publicly discuss details of business operations given our competitive industry," she said.

State Farm "continually evaluates and updates its working environments to meet the constantly evolving expectations of customers," Brower said in a general explanation.

"We do these types of projects on a regular basis across the U.S. and Canada," she said.
