NEFBA’s E-Council and JEA are offering a unique workshop with national expert Dr. Joe Lstiburek. This full-day special workshop will address the real-world issues local builders, remodelers and associates face daily.

“We are collecting issues, challenges and problems from the professionals working in the industry and will ask Joe to address them in this workshop,” said David Reed, JEA Conservation Specialist. “Joe’s input together with shared experiences from the participants will yield practical solutions to common issues.”

Lstiburek, Ph.D., P.Eng., ASHRAE Fellow, is a principal of Building Science Corporation. He is a building scientist who investigates building failures and is internationally recognized as an authority on moisture related building problems and indoor air quality. He is an adjunct professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto and the past chairman of ASTM E241.

Lstiburek has 25 years of experience in design, construction, investigation, and building science research. Through the U. S. Department of Energy’s Building America program, he has forged partnerships with designers, builders, developers, materials suppliers and equipment manufacturers to build higher performance homes across the United States.

“Joe’s down-to-earth and commonsense approach to buildings and building failures allows any audience to relate to the material,” Reed said. “His focus on building durability ultimately helps reduce energy consumption and allows contractors to provide a higher level of service to the local community.”
