Start the year by increasing your knowledge, meeting CEU requirements and enhancing your professional skills.
JEA and the E-Council encourage you to take advantage of training opportunities in January. The courses are being offered to help you keep up to date and also meet your continuing education requirements. And, two of them are free.
Two courses are being offered at NEFBA (103 Century 21 Drive, Suite 100) on Jan. 22. Beginning at 9 a.m., is a free four-CEU course for licensed contractors, architects, engineers and interior designers on Advanced Residential Energy Code Compliance. Sponsored by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, this course provides an overview of energy-use contributors in buildings, energy-code compliance methods, tools and field verification issues. The course is comprised of three main sections: Building Science, The Residential Florida Energy Code (including a discussion of compliance and energy-saving improvement options) and Residential Energy Code Forms. The course is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
[FBC Course #473.0, CILB #0609608, AR #9878165, FBPE exp 4028; sponsored by the DBPR and provided at no cost to qualified participants.]
A second course is offered from 2-4 p.m. the same day and also at NEFBA: a two-CEU course on Duct Systems for Florida’s hot, humid climate. This course describes design and installation techniques necessary to construct an energy-efficient HVAC duct system in Florida’s climate. Materials of construction, particularly sealing products, will be discussed in detail. Techniques will be related to new and existing requirements of the Florida Building Code. The fee for this course is $55. [CILB0007367, AR9876676, FBPE exp 4028]
