For the 102nd year, Santa Claus visited members and guests of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville on Monday when the group gathered for its annual Christmas lunch at the Omni Downtown.
Following a performance by the Silhouettes jazz choral group from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and a sing-along, Santa and his elf met the children and grandchildren of club members.
Past Rotary District 6970 Governor Tommy Grimes asked club members to continue to support the Salvation Army Red Kettle drive this year.
Grimes said his father, Leo, asked his fellow Rotarians 40 years ago to support the fundraising drive to secure the "No. 1 Bell Ringer" honor for Downtown Rotary.
Grimes said if the club can exceed its $15,000 goal this year, it will be the 41st consecutive year that the club will have raised more funds in the campaign than any other civic service organization in North Florida.
