February's First Wednesday Art Walk brought a mixture of experience Downtown.

Themed "Draw Your HeART Out," in a nod to Valentine's Day, artists and designers from the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Artists took part in Atomic Sketch, drawing original art on-site for customers.

Sales of the art benefited AIGA's mentoring program.

Representatives from WJCT TV-7 and the Jacksonville Public Library distributed free copies of "A Lesson Before Dying."

It's this year's book for the national Big Read program that encourages communities to read and discuss a book. The public television station has created a slate of events related to the book. For details, visit wjct.org/events.

The next First Wednesday Art Walk is scheduled 5-9 p.m. March 6.
