Body Central Corp. on Monday announced a shake-up of its merchandising team, including the resignation of Chief Merchandising Officer and Executive Vice President Beth Angelo.
Angelo is the daughter of Body Central founders Jerrold and Ronnie Rosenbaum and had been with the Jacksonville-based fashion retailer since 1994.
With her resignation, the entire senior management team that took Body Central public in 2010 is now gone from the company.
Former Chief Financial Officer Richard Walters left the company in September 2011. CEO Allen Weinstein left in August 2012 after a series of disappointing sales reports that continued through the end of the year, which were attributed to poor merchandising decisions.
Body Central earlier this month announced the appointment of former Lane Bryant executive Brian Woolf as the new chief executive officer. Tom Stoltz, who served as interim CEO after Weinstein left, replaced Walters as CFO in 2011.
Along with Angelo's departure, Body Central on Monday announced the appointment of four new merchandising and marketing executives:
• Andrea Jackson joined the company as senior vice president and general merchandise manager. Jackson has 30 years of merchandising experience, most recently at Sears as division merchandise manager responsible for juniors' apparel and women's dresses and outerwear.
• Patti Simigran joined the company as senior vice president of e-commerce and direct merchandising, after previously serving as chief merchandising officer at Maurice's.
• Debbie Martin, another former Lane Bryant executive, was named senior vice president of trend and design.
• Grant Simmons, formerly of Coldwater Creek, became Body Central's vice president of e-commerce marketing.
"These four leaders bring diverse and in-depth retailing knowledge in the areas of merchandising, branding, marketing, and strategic planning to Body Central," Woolf said in a news release.
"Separately, I want to thank Beth for her years of hard work and dedication to Body Central. She has been instrumental in building Body Central into a business with over $300 million in annual sales and we appreciate her contributions," he said.
