The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade started about an hour late Monday when a suspicious package was found near the parade route.

When the all-clear signal was given by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the procession began and lasted nearly three hours.

Thousands of people lined Downtown streets from the Federal Reserve Bank on Water Street to the sports complex to watch marching bands, motorcycle clubs, dance groups, civic organizations and elected officials including Gov. Rick Scott and Mayor Alvin Brown.
