Some of the best art created by young painters, photographers and sculptors from Northeast Florida is on exhibit through Feb. 24 in the third-floor gallery at the Main Library Downtown.
The exhibition is sponsored by the North East Florida Scholastic Art Awards.
More than 800 pieces of art were submitted for consideration by students in grades 7-12 in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia counties.
The Main Library also is hosting its annual Winter Teen Art Contest, open to Jacksonville teens ages 12-18. Paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures are on exhibit in the Teen Department on the first floor of the library.
Entries were judged on skill, originality and "wow" factor.
The winner will be announced at a reception in the Teen Lounge on Wednesday during First Wednesday Art Walk. The grand prize is a Reddi-Arts gift certificate and a solo show at the Main Library.
