In his quest for re-election in 2015, Mayor Alvin Brown raised $155,185 during the second quarter of financial reporting.
The quarter runs from April 1-June 30, with a filing deadline of July 10. Brown's figures were posted Thursday.
He raised $104,800 during the first quarter, Jan. 1-March 30, bringing his total to $259,485.
An amendment shows Brown reimbursed a $500 contribution to Gregory Pease, City Procurement director.
Brown filed for re-election in early March. He received 233 contributions in the first reporting period and 506 in the second.
In addition to the monetary contributions, Brown reported $14,208 in expenditures, the first of his campaign. They include travel expenses, meals and office supplies and equipment.
Brown is one of two filed candidates for the mayor's office and the only one that has raised money.
The reporting deadline for the July 1-Sept. 30 quarter is Oct. 10.
City Council races also will be determined by the 2015 election. Some notes:
• The Council race for District 8 has drawn three candidates, including two former members. Terry Fields served District 7 for two consecutive terms from 1991-99 before being elected to the state House for two consecutive terms from 2000-08.
Pat Lockett-Felder, who filed to run, succeeded Fields in District 7. She served two consecutive terms from 1999-2007. Both are positioning to succeed Denise Lee, who is term-limited.
Through two reporting periods, Fields has raised $6,335 and Lockett-Felder has garnered $4,275 in monetary contributions.
The third candidate is Sebastian Alexander, who has not reported any contributions.
• District 3 candidate James Nealis has raised the most so far in any Council race, with $13,995. He is the sole candidate filed in the race to succeed Richard Clark, who is term-limited. Nealis briefly served as an executive Council assistant to Council members Lori Boyer and Greg Anderson.
• Nine of the 19 Council seats are up for grabs in the 2015 election. Of them five have drawn filed candidates so far, with District 7 — currently represented by Johnny Gaffney — attracting the most with four. Council Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8 all have filed candidates.
