Subway Café planned at Brooks Y

Look for a Subway Café at the Brooks Family YMCA. The City approved tenant build-out at the Y facility at 10423 Centurion Parkway N.

C.F. Knight Inc. is the contractor for the $99,600 project.

Nikos Westmoreland, vice president of membership, marketing and communication for the YMCA of Florida's First Coast, said the Subway Café will operate in the space previously occupied by Crave All Natural Foods.

Westmoreland said the Subway Café concept features the chain's familiar sub sandwich menu plus a line of premium espresso-based beverages, including lattes, mochas and cappuccinos, along with teas, hot cocoa, smoothies and more. The opening is expected later this summer.

Buffalo Wild Wings anticipates $1 million renovation at The Avenues

The City is reviewing plans for Buffalo Wild Wings at The Avenues mall. The permit application shows a construction cost of $1.07 million for the 7,000-square-foot space in the former Morrison's. The permit covers interior and exterior work and the proposed patio addition. No contractor was listed. The Avenues is at 10300 Southside Blvd.

Panera drive-thru in review

A permit application was filed for Panera Bread to add a drive-thru window to its Regency restaurant at 9301 Atlantic Blvd. It's shown as a $240,000 project. No contractor was listed. The architect is Dennis D. Smith of Wichita, Kan.

Copper Tap House applies for permit

The City is reviewing a permit for tenant build-out for the Copper Tap House and Craft Food restaurant at Hodges Pointe Plaza at 13500 Beach Blvd.

The $58,000 project covers 1,200 square feet of the 4,325-square-foot space. Stiles Construction Inc. is the contractor.

The City already approved an awning for the restaurant, which is taking over a former Times Grill/Bubba Burger location.

The plans in review indicate a 155-seat restaurant.

Its Copper – Tap House Facebook page posted June 18 that the restaurant was "coming this fall."

"Copper Tap House prides itself on delivering a menu with as much love as the craft brewers spend on their beers that we so proudly serve," it said.

"With a menu based on regional American cuisine, our craft food will be served with some of the finest beers across the country."

It also posted that its menu will consist of more than 24 variations of sliders from different regions of the country. Accompanied by photos, the page asks:

"Will a BBQ Bacon Burger make the cut for the Southern region??"

And, "I personally hope that a Snapper Slider makes our Southern region!!"

Smokin' Pig OK'd

The City approved build-out for The Smokin' Pig Bar-B-Que Co. at 11635 N. Main St. Brink Construction Group Inc. is the contractor for the $10,400 project, which is a conversion of use.
