• The Jacksonville Jaguars will host its annual team scrimmage at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at EverBank Field. Fans will have an opportunity to receive autographs from Jaguars players, members of the ROAR cheerleaders and Jaguars alumni players during the free event. Discounted concessions will be available. A four-minute fireworks show will take place after the scrimmage.

• The Daily's 5K Stadium Challenge will be at 6 p.m. Friday at EverBank Field. The course starts in the Tailgate Zone, runs around EverBank Field, the practice fields, the seven levels of the stadium and finishes with a loop around the football field. Proceeds benefit area high school track and cross country programs. For more information, visit jaxevents.com.

• The Jacksonville Public Library board of trustees has elected its incumbent officers to serve second terms, has two new members and announced ex-officio members representing City Council and Duval County Public Schools. Brenda Simmons-Hutchins serves as chair, Erin Vance Skinner is vice chair and Cristina Stallings is secretary. Sybil Ansbacher and Marc Hardesty have been newly appointed to the board. Council President Bill Gulliford and Council member Greg Anderson will represent Council, while Kimberly Davis will represent Duval County Public Schools.

• University of North Florida President John Delaney hosted JAX Chamber President and CEO Daniel Davis, JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot, members of the South Council of the chamber and board of governors today at the school as part of the chamber's #ilovejax tour. Attendees learned about the university's community nursing, nutrition, international business and transportation and logistics programs, all of which have been designated flagships.

• The Jacksonville Children's Commission board of directors will have a special meeting at noon today at the commission's 1095 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. facility.

• The Florida Medical Association installed Dr. Alan Harmon as its 137th president during its annual meeting in Orlando. Harmon is certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and practices with the Borland-Groover Clinic. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He succeeds Dr. Vincent DeGennaro as president.

• Carrabba's Italian Grill and Outback Steakhouse will open restaurants at 11 a.m. Monday in North Jacksonville at the River City Marketplace. They will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the JAX Chamber before the lunchtime opening. Both are Bloomin' Brands Inc. restaurants with several area locations. It will be Carrabba's fifth location and Outback's seventh location.

• The Jacksonville Public Library has launched JaxLibrary, a cross-platform mobile app that provides real-time access to library resources. The app allows customers to access any Jacksonville library location to review accounts, make renewal requests, put holds on items and access the e-book reading collection. It works on smartphones and tablets including Apple iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Kindle Fire and was funded through a donation from the Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library.
