The Jax Pack Downtown Merchants Association has launched its first contest and everyone who works, lives or visits Downtown is invited to participate.

Until midnight June 30, spot Mayor Alvin Brown in any Downtown business and post the sighting at the association’s Facebook page to be entered in a drawing for a $10 gift certificate valid at any member merchant.

“When we met with the mayor, we told him we’d like to see him in our businesses. He said he often patronizes Downtown merchants, so we decided to make it into a game, sort of like ‘Where’s Waldo.’ It’s interactive and we thought it could be fun to play tag with Mayor Brown,” said Jax Pack spokeswoman Jennifer O’Donnell.

She said any business counts for the contest, including retail stores and restaurants. However, one possible sighting site is off limits.

“If you see him at City Hall, that doesn’t count,” O’Donnell said.

To learn more or report a sighting, visit Jax Pack Downtown Merchants at Facebook.com.
