The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section board of governors last week gained a new member and allowed online voting for the first time during its elections.
“It’s a good tool to have that makes voting easy and accessible,” said YLS 2013-14 President Michelle Barnett.
Board members Eric Roberson and Beau Baker were re-elected and Christine Bell was elected to an open seat created by immediate past YLS President Michael Orr moving to The JBA board of governors. About 100 votes were cast with 82 votes submitted online.
The YLS 2013-14 executive officers include Barnett, President-elect Patrick Kilbane, Secretary Lindsay Tygart and Treasurer Christian George. Board members include Baker, Bell, Roberson, Alexandria Hill, Renee Maxey and Shea Moser.
Hill was appointed to the board by Orr to fill the unexpired term of Brad Blair, who is moving to Birmingham, Ala.
The board recognized ex officio members Sarah Anderson, Gordon Fenderson, Jennifer Kifer, Michael Lockamy and Timothy Miller for their volunteer efforts.
The JBA Young Lawyers Section has more than 600 attorneys who are 36 years of age or younger or who have been practicing law for fewer than five years.
