31 become U.S. citizens Downtown

The highlight of the June 19 celebration of World Refugee Day at the Main Library was when 31 people from 20 different countries became citizens of the United States of America. “Today, you are being given the greatest gift the citizens of the United States can give. You have been accepted into a partnership. This day is the beginning, not the end, of your quest to be a citizen of the United States,” U.S. Immigration Services Officer Elizabeth Ward told the 31 new Americans.
