Florida Bar to honor lawyers for 50 years of service

The Florida Bar will honor 165 attorneys for 50 years of dedication to the practice of law during an event at 12:30 p.m. Friday at The Florida Bar's Annual Convention at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

To be recognized, attorneys must be members in good standing of The Florida Bar and attain their 50th anniversary of admittance to the practice of law in 2013.

Eight lawyers in the 4th Circuit will be honored. Another four lawyers in the nearby 7th and 8th Circuits also are among the 165.

Senior counselors, who've practiced for 50 years or more but have not been members of The Florida Bar for the entire period, also will be recognized

The event is sponsored by The Florida Bar's Young Lawyers Division.

Retired 2nd District Court of Appeal Judge Emiliano "E.J." Salcines Jr., a 50-year honoree, will be the featured speaker.

4th Circuit attorneys to be honored are:

• Kenneth George Anderson, Jacksonville 

• John Gall Grimsley, Jacksonville 

• Peter C. Jones, Fernandina Beach 

• Robert Carlton Nichols, Jacksonville 

• Willard Ernest Parsons, Amelia Island 

• Joseph Mills Ripley Jr., Jacksonville 

• Edward Alfred White, Jacksonville 

• Barry L. Zisser, Jacksonville

7th Circuit attorneys to be honored are:

• Richard Kane, South Daytona 

• Reid Edgington Smith Jr.,

Ormond Beach

8th Circuit attorneys to be honored are:

• James Stacy Quincey, Gainesville 

• Kenneth Wayne Randall, Alachua
