• Aging True and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida have partnered to create Pace Partners for Northeast Florida Inc. The nonprofit organization will bring Pace, which stands for the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, to Northeast Florida. The national program aims to keep poor, frail seniors at home as long as possible and delay or avoid the need for nursing-home placement. It is funded by Medicare and Medicaid and has four programs in Florida. The organization is requesting legislative approval to provide services to 6,000 potentially eligible individuals in the area. Aging True serves more than 6,000 people a year with home-based independence. Community Hospice is a Jacksonville-based nonprofit that assists with end-of-life care and serves Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

• University of North Florida President John Delaney has named Earle Traynham interim provost and vice president of academic affairs. Traynham is the Coggin College of Business dean emeritus and professor of economics emeritus. He also is a UNF founding faculty member. He will temporarily replace Mark Workman, who decided to return to a faculty position at the end of the semester. Traynham will start in May and a national search is under way for a permanent provost and vice president of academic affairs.

• Jacksonville International Airport has been named the fifth best airport in North America for airport-service quality, based on recognition from the Airports Council International. More than 275 airports participate in the awards, which recognize and reward airports based on a passenger-satisfaction survey. Other airports awarded for top airport service quality include Indianapolis International Airport, Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, Tampa International Airport and Sacramento International Airport.

• Jessica Deal, Mayor Alvin Brown's City Policy director, will be leaving the administration in a few weeks for a position with McGladrey LLP. Deal has served as the City Council liaison. She will become the director of business development and government relations for McGladrey, a provider of assurance, tax and consulting services.

• NAI Hallmark Partners was selected by CoStar Group Inc. to receive three CoStar Power Broker Awards. Hallmark Partners received a “Top Leasing Firms” award while Patrick Thornton received a “Top Office Leasing Brokers” honor and Christian Harden received a “Top Industrial Leasing Brokers” honor. Hallmark Partners is a Jacksonville-based, full-service commercial real estate development company. CoStar provides information, analytics and marketing services to commercial real estate companies.

• Gov. Rick Scott appointed Michael Cavendish to the Florida Humanities Council. Cavendish, a partner with Gunster and former Jacksonville Transportation Authority board chair, succeeds Jay Hess and is appointed for a term that began Monday and ends Nov. 13, 2014. The council was established in 1973 and provides residents an opportunity to explore heritage, traditions and stories of Florida, according to its website. The nonprofit is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for Humanities and develops public programs.
