Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works making moves at Town Center

Victoria's Secret plans to remodel and expand its store in the St. Johns Town Center, taking the space used by its sister company, Bath & Body Works, which is relocating nearby.

A building-permit application was submitted to the City for a $450,000 project to remodel and expand into a total of 9,011 square feet of space for Victoria's Secret at 4742 River City Drive, No. 101. No contractor was identified.

Victoria's Secret, which is owned by Limited Brands, will remain open during construction.

Meanwhile, a permit application was submitted for interior remodeling of existing tenant space for Bath & Body Works at 4663 River City Drive, No. 113. No contractor was identified for the $150,000 project for 2,997 square feet of space.

Bath & Body Works also is owned by Limited Brands.

Lyndsay Rossman, director of marketing and business development at St. Johns Town Center, said Bath & Body Works is moving into space used by Design Elements, which is leaving the property at the end of March. She said the Bath & Body Works should open July 15.

Nordstrom Rack permit approved

The City approved the permit Tuesday for James C. Hudson Jr. Construction Co. to build the 34,934-square-foot Nordstrom Rack shell building at 4924 Big Island Drive in The Markets at Town Center next to St. Johns Town Center. Interior build-out will be approved in a separate permit. The basic building construction carries a project cost of $1.5 million. The store is expected to open by late fall. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom Inc. and reports that it carries on-trend merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50 to 60 percent off original Nordstrom prices. Seattle-based Nordstrom plans to open a full-line store at St. Johns Town Center in fall 2014.

Joe Fresh opening in Dunn Avenue JCPenney store

The City approved a build-out permit Monday for a Joe Fresh shop at the J.C. Penney Co. store at 3000 Dunn Ave., No. 25.

LC Construction Management LLC is the contractor for the $35,000 project, a renovation of 857 square feet.

In February, the City approved permits for Big Services Inc. to renovate spaces within the Regency Square Mall and The Avenues mall JCP stores for the Joe Fresh shops. The combined build-out for those was $70,000.

Penney said last year it would open shops for Canadian fast-fashion label Joe Fresh in stores this spring. The shops will offer women's clothing such as dresses, T-shirts, denim and silk blouses. The Joe Fresh apparel also will be sold at jcp.com

Yahoo.com reported in July that the company has been focusing on restructuring its stores to add more store-within-a-store concept, including Sephora and MNG by Mango, a Spanish clothing chain, followed by boutiques for Levi's and other jeans brands.

7-Eleven OK'd in Riverside

A 7-Eleven store was approved Tuesday for tenant build-out at 2545 Riverside Ave. across from St. Vincent's Medical Center. F&G Construction of Jacksonville Inc. is the contractor for the $427,000 project in the Prado Walk center. The store will be 3,137 square feet.

St. Johns Square adding commercial development

Plans filed with the St. Johns River Water Management District show a 49,700-square-foot commercial and warehouse development at St. Johns Square in Southside.

St. Johns Square is a retail development south of Beach Boulevard and west of St. Johns Bluff Road.

The plans show two commercial buildings, of 8,700 and 8,000 square feet, and a 33,000-square-foot warehouse. The site is 7.15 acres.

The development site is west of the Logan's Pointe apartments and just south of the existing St. Johns Square buildings.

AVA Engineers Inc. is the engineer, and the property owner is St. Johns Square Land Trust.
