JEA Managing Director and CEO Paul McElroy has named Monica Whiting as the utility's chief customer officer.
Whiting will directly report to McElroy. Her staff will include Jane Upton, communications and community outreach director; Richard Vento, corporate data integration director; and Sheila Pressley, senior executive.
Whiting's appointment completes McElroy's executive team, which includes Mike Brost, vice president and general manager of electric systems; Brian Roche, vice president and general manager of water and wastewater systems; Melissa Dykes, chief financial officer; Ted Hobson, chief compliance officer; Angela Hiers, chief human resources officer; and Bud Para, chief public affairs officer.
Whiting previously served as general manager of customer revenue and services for Colorado Springs Utilities, where she led an award-winning public power customer service operation.
Whiting has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations/Journalism from the University of Southern California. She will relocate to Jacksonville with her family and join JEA on April 1.
