Performance Bicycle renovating store
The City approved renovations to convert the former David Gates Golf Headquarters store in the Tinseltown area for Performance Bicycle.
Performance Bicycle, based in Chapel Hill, N.C., announced in February it will open five stores in Florida, including one in Jacksonville.
Mid Atlantic Renovation Inc. will renovate the store at 4421 Southside Blvd. at a cost of $155,000. It's a 10,260-square-foot project.
The performancebike.com site shows the company, with more than 100 stores in 19 states, will open the Jacksonville store in June.
The site says the new stores feature an easy-to-shop layout with more than 3,000 cycling items including bikes, cycling- specific clothing, sports nutrition, components and accessories. The stores feature Performance Bicycle's signature Spin Doctor Service and Repair department.
Bealls renovating in Mandarin
Renovations were approved for Bealls Department Stores Inc. at its Mandarin Pointe store at 12200 San Jose Blvd.
Bealls intends to renovate the store at a project cost of $92,955. McIntyre Elwell & Strammer General Contractors Inc. is shown as the contractor.
Renovations include carpeting and tile work, fitting rooms and other repairs and renovations.
O'Reilly Auto Parts to build in Mandarin
An O'Reilly Auto Parts store is planned at 12510 San Jose Blvd.
Perry-McCall Construction is shown as the contractor for the $600,000 project. The store will be a 6,650-square-foot pre-engineered building.
