Juan Kuryla, Port of Miami deputy director and JaxPort board choice to become the next Jacksonville Port Authority CEO, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the post and has accepted an offer from the Port of Miami.
The announcement was made during a special JaxPort board meeting this morning.
Kuryla, 45, was unanimously selected April 22 by the board to succeed former CEO Paul Anderson, who resigned to become the CEO of the Port of Tampa. Kuryla has served as Port of Miami deputy director since 2009.
JaxPort Interim CEO Roy Schleicher and Global Container Terminals President Michael Moore also were finalists who interviewed in the position.
