Ron Chamblin has sold millions of books since he opened his first retail store 37 years ago, but Wednesday he marked a first in his career.

Chamblin received the initial shipment of "The First Edition," the first book in the catalog of Chamblin's new publishing company, Chamblin Bookmine. It's a collection of prose and poetry written by students at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.

"I've been thinking about getting into publishing for years. I always felt it would be a fun thing to do," said Chamblin.

He said he would like the new venture to publish more collections and anthologies.

"There are a lot of good writers in Northeast Florida. It would be a good forum for them," Chamblin said.
