7-Eleven continues expansion
The City approved a permit for PAR Builders II LLC to build a 3,010-square-foot 7-Eleven convenience store at 11900 Lem Turner Road at a project cost of $1.5 million.
In Clay County, a 7-Eleven is proposed at Plantation Crossing at Branan Field Road and Blanding Boulevard in Middleburg. The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing plans for the proposed store and gas station on the vacant outparcel.
Harrison French & Associates Ltd. of Bentonville, Ark., is the engineer for the project, proposed on 1.13 acres.
Dallas-based 7-Eleven has nine stores in Duval County along with two in Clay County and one in St. Johns County, its 7-eleven.com website shows.
7-Eleven President and CEO Joe DePinto said in March 2012 at a news conference Downtown that the company would open more than 80 stores in the Jacksonville area by 2015.
He said each store generates about $100,000 a year in sales and property tax revenue and each creates at least 10 jobs.
It has been reported that 7-Eleven is returning to Jacksonville after a noncompete agreement expired with Gate Petroleum Co. Jacksonville-based Gate bought 28 7-Eleven stores in 1990 and converted them to Gate stores.
Signs showing for LUSH
The City approved two wall signs for LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics in St. Johns Town Center at 4663 River City Drive, No. 101. Signsharks Sign Service Inc. is the contractor for the two wall signs at a project cost of $4,400.
It's one of two LUSH stores planned in Jacksonville – both at Simon Property Group properties.
LUSH will open in June in the former BCBGeneration space in St. Johns Town Center, in which Simon has an ownership interest.
LUSH also is progressing with plans to open at The Avenues mall, a sister center owned by Simon. LUSH plans a $100,000 build-out of an almost 1,500-square-foot store at The Avenues, at 10300 Southside Blvd. The store location is in space 1550 near the mall center.
The 1,500-square-foot build-out at St. Johns Town Center carries a project cost of $102,543.
As reported in March, the lushusa.com site says that LUSH began in the 1970s in England.
The website shows 12 Florida locations, including the two "coming soon" at the town center and The Avenues. One of the 12 is at a Macy's store in North Palm Beach.
