As a complement to the 2014 Scholastic Art Awards exhibit in the third-floor gallery at the Main Library, a competition for young artists ages 12-18 was presented in the Teen Lounge on the first floor. The entries will be displayed in the lounge until Feb. 28.
“Reading the Bible,” a drawing by Winston Christopher, a 17-year-old junior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, was selected for the grand prize.
Christopher received a $30 gift certificate from Reddi Arts and when the collective exhibit closes, more of his work will be displayed in March in a solo show in the Teen Art Gallery.
