By this time next year houses will be under construction at a new development in Orange Park.
Jacksonville-based developer The Towers Group will break ground in July on a 236-unit residential neighborhood, Arbor Mill at OakLeaf Plantation, operations vice president Sam Crozier said.
The subdivision will be located on a 100-acre site south and west of the intersection of Oakleaf Plantation Parkway and Branan Field-Chaffee Road.
The company expects vertical construction to begin by May 2015, he said. KB Homes, Richmond American Homes and Drees Homes will be the builders.
Crozier described Arbor Mill as a follow-up to Forest Hammock at OakLeaf Plantation, a 699-unit subdivision which The Towers Group also developed. He said the amenities at Arbor Mill, which are currently in design, will be smaller, though. Forest Hammock features a pool, playground and tennis courts.
The Towers Group decided to move forward on Arbor Mill after seeing sales rebound in Forest Hammock, where closings reached 18 homes per month in the first quarter. That neighborhood is about halfway built out.
The Towers Group is also developing Oakridge Landing, a 196-home community near Racetrack Road. and Veterans Parkway in St. Johns County.
