Meet Luke, a 91/2-year-old German shepherd service dog.

His human companion, Tom Amason, is a U.S. Navy veteran and expert dog trainer for more than 30 years.

Amason began training Luke when the dog was just 7 weeks old for search-and-rescue in the Dallas area. They also teamed up to train other dogs for service.

Sadly, Luke’s career was cut short when Amason sustained a military service-related injury and Luke took up post as Amason’s personal service dog.

Luke earned the privilege of being “caped” by Patriot Service Dogs, a prestigious award rarely given to a dog trained outside of its program.

The medical equipment needed to ease some of Amason’s symptoms cannot be delivered until he has a permanent residence.

Builders Care has teamed up with American Electrical, B&G Plumbing and HVAC, Jaguar Drywall, and Finishing Touches to get these two in their home as soon as possible.

Amason wants to get back to training service dogs in the large backyard just as soon as his health improves.

He already has one student signed up.
