My goal at the beginning of my term as president was to finish strong.
It has been a great year, and coming down to the wire, I can safely say the strong finish looks like a sure thing.
If you were at the Gala, you may understand my optimism. The turnout was phenomenal. What a privilege to see so many of our past leaders and our new members, old friends, new friends. As we reminisced about the past, we were also aware of the potential the future holds.
The strength of our association is the quality of leaders we’ve had, the challenges we’ve overcome and the determination of the next generation to build on the legacy of hard work, ethical business practices and a concern for the greater community.
I’m also proud of the success of the President’s Project. In just over one month, a need was identified, the call extended and the job completed.
A home in Northwest Jacksonville had severe water damage, rendering it unsafe and unhealthy. The homeowner had been in the home for more than 30 years.
NEFBA members responded immediately and abundantly to restore the home and peace of mind to the homeowner.
With just about six weeks until the installation of new officers, I want to make that time count.
Many opportunities exist for you and for me over the next six weeks to support charitable efforts, the association and each other.
I hope to see you at many holiday events and I’m counting on you to cross that finish line with me — association-strong.
