Registration is open for the 28th annual Clay Builders Council Charity Golf Tournament.
The tournament, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11, will be hosted at the Orange Park Country Club.
While the tournament has for years been a great networking opportunity for the members of the Clay Builders Council and NEFBA, the real significance of this tournament is seen in December.
Since 1990, the CBC has used the proceeds of the Clay Builders Golf Tournament to fund its Christmas Food Basket Giveaway.
Partnering with the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry, the Clay Builders purchase and prepare large boxes of food for needy families in the county.
In 2014, CBC provided food baskets to more than 100 families, and hopes to match or increase that level of donation this year.
CBC has also provided assistance this year to the Food Basket Giveaway’s host church, St. Mary’s Council repaired and painted the walls of the church’s fellowship hall.
