Now that 2015 is upon us, NEFBA’s E-Council is expanding its offerings to the Jacksonville community.

“We are actively seeking remodeling projects,” said Jeff King of King Construction and E-Council chair. “The E-Council wants to help remodelers, builders and realtors provide lasting value to their clients.”

A core group of E-Council members will assist remodelers, builders or realtors’ clients who are planning to purchase a property with the intention of making upgrades to the home.

The E-Council will offer guidance on selecting and implementing energy- and water-efficient upgrades that will yield benefits for the residents for many years to come.

“During a significant remodeling project is a great time to consider energy- and water-efficient upgrades,” King said. “The opportunity to address key components of the building with the greatest ease and a lower cost is during this time. Simple and cost-effective steps to improve the comfort, durability and operational costs can be completed during the remodel process. The most critical part of the process is knowing what to do and how to do it.”

This new effort by the E-Council in 2015 gives remodelers and builders a great chance to learn a bit more about energy and water efficiency and how these options can expand their business’ offerings to their clients. Realtors will find it presents a great chance to connect their clients with an impartial third-party who can help make their new home even better.

“The E-Council is eager to partner with builders, remodelers and real estate professionals,” King said. “We want to be a trusted advisor and valuable resource to each of these groups in the building community.”

These opportunities will be limited for the year, so act quickly. Contact Jeff King or Dan Copeland if you have a project that could benefit from the expertise of E-Council members. We’re eager to learn more about your projects and determine if the E-Council can assist in some way.

Another great way to engage with the E-Council and learn more is by attending quarterly lunch-and-learn sessions at NEFBA.

“The E-Council will hold its first lunch-and-learn of 2015 on March 12,” King said. “We will be conducting a roundtable discussion with a well-qualified panel knowledgeable on various aspects of building science and energy and water efficiency.”

There is an open call for topics and questions that attendees would like answered or discussed. If there is a particular efficiency or building science topic that interests you, email Jeff King at [email protected] or Dan Copeland at [email protected].
