The Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Sales & Marketing Council has been named a finalist for the best SMC in the country by the National Association of Homebuilder’s SMC.
It is one of six SMC’s nationwide to be chosen. The honor means NEFBA’s SMC will go on to compete for the top national award.
Also NEFBA Rookie of the Year Cole Slate was named a national Rookie of the Year finalist.
Both Slate and NEFBA’s SMC won similar honors at the state level earlier this year – Slate took top honors as Florida’s Rookie of the Year, while NEFBA’s SMC placed second in the state after Tampa Bay’s SMC. Tampa Bay is also a finalist nationally.
Winners will be announced at the National Sales and Marketing Awards ceremony Jan. 20 in Las Vegas.
“Thank you everyone for all of your hard work this year,” said 2014 NEFBA SMC Chairman Ron Harris. “We are already winners.”
The National Sales and Marketing Awards, now in its 35th year, pays tribute to superior sales and marketing achievements by individual professionals, homebuilders and associates, and sales and marketing councils.
It is the nation’s largest competition for sales and marketing professionals and communities, according to the NAHB website.
Local homebuilder Providence Homes has hit a milestone, building 600 new homes that have earned the EPA’s Energy Star Certification.
To earn Energy Star Certification, every home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
In recognition Providence Homes’ commitment, the Environmental Protection Agency has awarded the company its Energy Star for Homes Leadership in Housing and Certified Market Leader every year from 2010-2014.
Providence Homes residences are designed and built at least 20 percent more efficient than standard new homes, the company said.
The company’s homes are additionally energy-rated as a Residential Energy Services Network Energy Smart Builder.
