They say time flies when you’re having a good time.
I suspect it moves at the same rate in good and bad times, but the perception certainly is that the good times fly by. Here we are the end of the third quarter and it feels as if I just picked up the gavel.
When I think about the positive experiences so far this year, I count my blessings. We’ve grown.
We’ve come together for educational purposes, social purposes and team building. We’ve been successful in the political arena. We’ve witnessed an uptick in business and are optimistic about the future.
We have made some important changes, too. Justin Brown has joined Builders Care as its executive director. You can read about Justin’s heart for serving on Page 29 in this issue of Builder News.
And, we’ve formed a new partnership with Keiser University to provide classroom space for our Apprenticeship Program. (See story on Page 32.)
While change can be unsettling, we see these two changes as exciting opportunities for growth and improvement.
We have also committed to a project that is very important to me, and I invite you to join me in this effort. We are partnering with HabiJax on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 to build a house in 24 hours.
We need as many hands on deck as possible. I don’t know if this will be a record, but it will certainly be a challenge. Join us if you can, and once again let’s show what we can do when we join together to help others.
My gratitude goes out to all of you for making this a fantastic year.
I’m looking forward to celebrating with you at our annual Gala, but we still have work to do. I’m rolling up my sleeves to make this year one we will all remember with pride.
Thank you.
