Jason Fischer endorsement: The NEFBA PAC announced it will endorse Jason Fischer for Florida House of Representatives, District 16. Fischer is an engineer and a member of the Duval County School Board. He is running to replace Rep. Charles McBurney, who will be termed out in 2016.
Duval Delegation: Rep. Mia Jones was named chairwoman of the Duval County Legislative Delegation during its December meeting at City Hall. Rep. Jay Fant was chosen vice chairman. The delegation met to hear from constituents before heading to Tallahassee for the 2016 legislative session, which began Jan. 12. The annual FHBA Legislative Spring Conference is Feb. 8-10.

Transportation impact fee: The Clay County Board of Commissioners voted again to extend the transportation impact fee moratorium for an additional six months to allow further discussions of funding alternatives. The moratorium was set to expire at the end of 2015. The extension passed 4-1, with Commissioner Wayne Bolla casting the lone nay vote.

Rachael Bennett endorsement: The St. Johns Builders Council and NEFBA have endorsed Commissioner Rachael Bennett for St. Johns County Commission, District 5. Bennett defeated incumbent Commissioner Ken Bryan to win the seat in 2012.
