On Feb. 4, Pat Boone will perform the City Rescue Mission’s 70th Year Anniversary Gala: Love Letters: An Evening with Pat Boone, sponsored by St Johns Investment Management Co.

“This will be a nostalgic evening with me and the folks at City Rescue Mission and will benefit the great work of the mission. It will be a festive night of music as we reminisce what has been and forecast what is yet to come for City Rescue Mission,” said Boone, a native of Jacksonville.

The event will be at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.

City Rescue Mission was founded in 1946 to help the homeless and needy of Jacksonville.

Since then, it has become a three-pronged organization that meets the basic needs of the homeless, provides long-term addiction recovery programs and helps people return to independent living through education, life skills, and workforce development.

More than 70 percent of the adults who complete programs remain clean, sober and employed six months later, compared to a national average of 27 percent.

All programs and services are provided at no cost to the recipient.

To purchase tickets, email [email protected] or call (904) 387-4357.

Tickets may also be purchased online through Eventbrite or at crmjax.org.

Aging True and Subaru joining forces for area senior citizens

Aging True Community Senior Services is joining forces with Subaru of Jacksonville to help fight senior isolation and hunger.

Employees from the dealership will partner with Aging True’s Meals On Wheels program Thursday to deliver meals to homebound, frail and isolated seniors.

The local effort is part of Meals On Wheels America’s annual participation in Subaru’s Share the Love event.

For every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from Nov. 19-Jan. 2, the company donated $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charities — one of which was Meals On Wheels.

By the end of this year, Subaru and its retailers will have donated more than $65 million to charity through the Share the Love event.

Local Meals On Wheels America Member programs are eligible to earn grants of up to $20,000, which can provide an extra layer of support to help deliver meals and other services to seniors.

For more information, visit www.subaru.com/share.

The mission of Aging True is to provide resources for people, families and communities to prepare for and support graceful aging.

Aging True has been serving North Florida seniors and their families for 50 years.

Kids under 15 can design shopping bag for The Fresh Market

Think you have what it takes to design The Fresh Market’s next reusable shopping bag?

The specialty grocer is on a nationwide search for a design for its 2016 bag, which will benefit No Kid Hungry. The Fresh Market will donate 50 percent of the retail price of each bag sold to No Kid Hungry, with a minimum donation of $150,000.

The grocer has raised more than $1 million for the charity, which works to end childhood hunger in America.

Children ages 15 and under can submit a drawing that answers the question “What is the best thing about The Fresh Market?”

Drawing templates are available at all 183 Fresh Market locations. The top two artists, voted on by employees, will have their designs printed on the bags, which will be sold this year in stores nationwide.

Winners also will receive a $200 gift card for The Fresh Market and a goodie bag filled with an artist kit and edible treats.

Each store will award give their top two finalists a $50 gift card.
