Ben Stephens is a mortgage loan originator with EverBank.
A graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in finance, he has been a mortgage originator and sales manager for more than 22 years. He’s been a NEFBA member for approximately six years.
He credits teammates Meredith Shave and Bianca Rosado for his ability to take a more active role in NEFBA by serving as chair of the Nassau Builders Council.
“For the past seven years I have worked in partnership with Meredith and Bianca, whose dedication and hard work make it possible for me to devote time to NEFBA,” Stephens said.
In addition to its monthly meetings, the Nassau Builders Council hosts socials, such as its popular oyster roast. It also sponsors the Clyde Goodbread Charity Shoot each year.
Stephens’ goals are to grow the council and foster more Nassau members’ involvement in NEFBA.
“In general, my goal is to promote the benefits of a strong builders association to the Nassau business community,” he said.
“Nassau businesses and citizens benefit from the growth and careful development supported by homebuilding industry professionals. Our role is to educate and serve our local communities and the entire Northeast Florida region,” he said.
When it comes to the benefits of membership, Stephens said professional growth and awareness of the impact of the building industry have been great benefits for him.
“I have become more aware of local politics, building codes, benefits and challenges of Northeast Florida builders,” he said.
“The vertical synchronicity between, local, state and national builders associations is a promising and impressive model for any large organization. NEFBA membership activities facilitate exposure and growth of my professional pursuits,” Stephens said.
