Clay County is reviewing plans for what could be a third 7-Eleven in Middleburg.

On Nov. 17, the county began examining plans for a 4,716-square-foot store at 44254 Peppergrass St. off Blanding Boulevard.

Frequent 7-Eleven collaborator Bohler Engineering of Tampa is the civil engineer. Atlanta-based developer WDG Real Estate Partners owns the land and also works with the convenience store chain.

The size of the project is consistent or close with other 7-Eleven locations, specifically its new large-format prototype launched about a year ago.

In addition to the convenience store, site plans show seven fuel pumps with 14 fueling stations.

Another 7-Eleven is planned at County Road 210 and College Drive. A third is open at 2225 County Road 220.

7-Eleven operates and franchises 13,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada, according to its website.

Owned by Seven & I Holdings, 7-Eleven also operates the Speedway, Stripes, Laredo Taco Co. and Raise the Roost Chicken & Biscuits brands across the country.

The county development review committee is scheduled to discuss the convenience store project Dec 3.
