Performance clothing retailer Vuori is taking over a space in St Johns Town Center, now that the city issued a permit Dec. 10 for an almost $1.3 million tenant build-out.
Management Resource Systems Inc. of High Point, North Carolina, is the contractor for the 5,031-square-foot project at 4812 River City Drive, Unit 131.
The location appears to be that of Brooks Brothers. An asbestos report with the permit also identifies the location as Brooks Brothers.
An associate at the Brooks Brothers store referred questions to its corporate offices.
Brooks Brothers remains on the store directory of St. Johns Town Center, which is operated by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group.
The permit location shows the site between Faherty and Tommy Bahama, where Brooks Brothers has been operating.
Brooks Brothers is a clothing store for men and women that focuses on “traditions and craftsmanship that have defined over 200 years of American style,” according to brooksbrothers.com.
Merchandise includes men’s dress and sport shirts, suits, sport coats and blazers, tuxedos, shoes and accessories; women’s sweaters, dresses, blouses, pants, coats, jackets and jewelry; and boys’ clothing.
Brooks Brothers remains on the Simon Property Group site for St. Johns Town Center.
Vuori clothing can be found in stores around Northeast Florida such as 1st Place Sports, Nordstrom, Aqua East Surf Shop, TPC Sawgrass and Omni Amelia Island.
Vuori.com says Vuori “makes premium performance apparel inspired by the active Coastal California lifestyle; an integration of fitness, surf, sport, and art. We’re evolving the definition of traditional activewear.”
It sells men’s and women’s apparel and accessories.
Vuori is based in Carlsbad, California, with almost 130 locations internationally.
The shop-eat-surf-outdoor.com site reported Aug. 7 that the performance and lifestyle brand known for its coastal California-inspired style, announced that it will surpass its goal to open 100 retail locations by 2026 with the opening of its latest store in Aspen, Colorado, on Aug. 8.
“The 100-store milestone is not only a humbling achievement for us to reach in the same year as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, but it signifies the incredible power and momentum Vuori continues to have,” said founder and CEO Joe Kudla, in the report.
The report said Kudla founded Vuori in 2015 in a garage office two blocks from the ocean. As of Aug. 8, it was available in more than 18 countries, found in Vuori stores, on vuoriclothing.com, and through a network of national and regional retail partners.
The store site shows 117 U.S. locations in 27 states and Washington, D.C.
The seven Florida sites are Aventura, Boca Raton, Coral Gables, Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach Gardens and Sarasota.
The site shows 11 international stores.
