St. Johns County is reviewing designs for a freestanding bank at the proposed Walmart Supercenter at 3405 International Golf Parkway, where a Chick-fil-A and a gas station also are planned.

Signs saying the shopping center is coming have been posted at the 52.6-acre site, which is cleared. It is about two miles west of Buc-ee’s, Costco and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World at World Commerce Center.

Bohler Engineering, headquartered in Warren, New Jersey, and with offices across Florida, is listed as the civil engineer for the bank project.

A bank is planned in an outparcel of the Walmart Supercenter in development at 3405 International Golf Parkway in St. Johns County.

According to bohlerengineering.com, the company’s managing director of client experience, Josh Swerling, has experience with Chick-fil-A, Walmart and Chase Bank.

The property is owned by Jacksonville-based Steinemann & Co. through World Commerce Center LLP, according to the county’s property appraiser website.

Plans show a 4,200-square-foot bank with a dual drive-thru on the southeastern portion of the property. There are 24 parking spaces.

The county Development Review Committee will discuss the project Aug. 13.

After its plans are approved, the bank can apply for a building permit.

The county began reviewing plans in November 2024 for the Walmart development, which has eight outparcels,. Plans for the Chick-fil-A were submitted Dec. 2, 2024. The gas station plans proposing eight fueling stations and 16 pumps were filed Oct. 14.

Separately, Walmart is building another Supercenter in Southwest Jacksonville. The city issued a permit Feb. 26 for a roughly 175,000-square-foot store and a 4,365-square-foot liquor store in OakLeaf.

Another potential Walmart site is planned off Florida 200, west of Interstate 95 in Nassau County. It started the permitting process with the St. Johns River Water Management District July 11.
