Operators of St. Augustine restaurant The Floridian have set an Aug. 13 opening for a new concept, Bea’s Fine Foods + All Day Cafe.
The cafe at 9 Anastasia Blvd., just south of the Bridge of Lions, is led by husband and wife Genie and Jeff McNally. Genie McNally will serve as executive chef.
The establishment’s opening is ahead of The Floridian’s move from 72 Spanish St. to 485 Old Beach Road, about a mile south of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
All-day breakfast items at Bea’s include fresh-baked pastries, breakfast pizza, daily frittatas and biscuits. Lunch and brunch offerings feature burgers, shakshuka and cast-iron pizza, according to a news release. Shakshuka is a Middle Eastern dish of eggs, vegetables and spices.
The “Supper Club” dinner menu includes dishes such as chicken adobo and scallops Veracruz, served with capers, olives and tomatoes. Small plates include beet poke and citrus baked brie.
The 40-seat café also offers porch seating. It is in the former Santa Maria restaurant site, which sold in early 2025.
“I take so much inspiration from my family, so it was natural to honor my grandmothers with a concept that is near and dear to my heart,” Genie McNally said in the release.
“Bea’s is a way to play with ideas that have been marinating in my head. Jeff and I have invested lots of time in building relationships with our purveyors, and many times, they just bring me what’s fresh, and I start ideating. These are the ideas that I’ve been stowing away, that weren’t quite right for The Floridian, but something I still wanted to explore.”
Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. Bea’s will be closed Tuesdays. Reservations open Aug. 4.
The McNallys announced the relocation of The Floridian on March 20. They plan to open in the new space in late fall or early winter 2025, according to a release.
