Frontier Airlines announced June 12 it started nonstop service from Jacksonville International Airport to Atlanta.
The route operates twice a week on Thursday and Sunday. Flights leave Jacksonville at 7:49 p.m. and arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 9:10 p.m.
Flights leave Atlanta at 5:40 p.m. and arrive in Jacksonville at 6:52 p.m.
Fares start at $65.
Frontier also offers nonstop flights from Jacksonville to Philadelphia, Dallas and San Juan, Puerto Rico. It serves other cities via connections.
The airline also introduced new product and customer service offerings called “The New Frontier,” according to a news release.
Among the changes is UpFront Plus, an upgraded seating option in the first two rows of the aircraft that includes extra leg and elbow room. Passengers in UpFront Plus are guaranteed an empty middle seat.
Beginning in late 2025, Frontier plans to offer first-class seating on every flight.
Frontier, based in Denver, was founded in 1994.
Frontier’s announcement is the latest in nonstop flights departing from JIA.
Avelo Airlines began offering nonstop service to New Haven, Connecticut, on Feb. 14. It added service to New Castle, Delaware, on May 23.
Breeze Airways will start nonstop service to North Canton, Ohio, on Sept. 4.
