The planned Yulee community of Wildlight welcomed two area restaurants this spring.
Coffee chain Foxtail Coffee Co. opened May 5. Sports bar and beer garden Bohemian Bull opened April 17.
Both are in the Crossings at Wildlight shopping center off Florida 200 about a mile east of Interstate 95.
Each are the first in Nassau County.
Foxtail Coffee specializes in coffee and other drinks and serves breakfast and lunch. It also features Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream.
Bohemian Bull serves pub-style lunch and dinner. Some locations in other markets have more than 30 beers on tap.
A freestanding HCA Healthcare emergency center opened March 31 in Wildlight’s Town District.
The 11,000-square-foot facility sits on a 55.28-acre site that HCA Healthcare bought from the county in July 2019 for $15.8 million.
It is at 462541 Florida 200.
It offers 24/7 emergency care, 10 private rooms, a trauma bay and diagnostic imaging services.
Plans for two other outparcels at the site call for a medical office building and a full-service hospital, according to Reed Hammond, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.
A helipad is planned, but staff said the ER’s parking lot can receive helicopters now for extreme emergencies.
Three housing projects in Wildlight’s Garden District are planned to bring about 1,040 homes to the developing area.
Nassau County’s Development Review Committee began reviewing plans for the projects Feb. 25.
The Garden District is at Riverbluff Parkway and Pages Dairy Road, about 9 miles east of Interstate 95 and Wildlight’s Town District, which includes retail and office space and housing.
England-Thims & Miller is the civil engineer for two of the projects. Kimley-Horn is working with the other.
According to a Wildlight spokesperson, the Garden District emphasizes outdoor amenities, conservation and river access.
According to Wildlight.com, it hopes to open its first model homes in the district in summer 2026.
