Aldi will open its store at 1545 County Road 220 in Fleming Island on June 26, according to a June 12 news release.

The Eagle Harbor store is in a converted Winn-Dixie and will be Aldi’s first location in Clay County.

T.D. Farrell Construction of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the contractor. Parker Center Investments LLC owns the land.

The store will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Aldi bought Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers Inc., which operated about 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi as of March 7, 2024.

Aldi then started converting some stores to its banner.

The Fleming Island store opening brings Aldi closer to its goal of 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028. In Northeast Florida, 12 Aldi locations have been identified for conversion.

The first converted Aldi opened March 20 in a former Harveys at 2261 Edgewood Ave. W. in Northwest Jacksonville.
